Ahh, again, I would like some people to help me with my site’s coding. Please contact or comment if you are interested. It is terrible right now, but for those newbies I strongly reccommend Kat (Ethy?)’s site if you are trying to make and code a div layout.
The topic of today is HITS. Yeah, some sites are just there for them. Like my friend ELLY (name changed)’s site. She asked me to comment and said that "I am dying for comments! Please tell everyone! I need hits!" As a friend, of course I commented, her site was new and all, but I didn’t tell everyone to. The point of most personal sites is to express personality, which explains it in one word, but some offer graphics for other people to use. She hardly offered anything; only videos copied of YouTube, photos and glitters that she redisributed from other sites. And what I hate most is HIT COUNTERS.
If you want to get hits, get a freaking MySpace. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that’s what MySpace is for-just for friends and hits. I know my site isn’t that popular, and I don’t mind and like the population. It’s good enough for me.
I don’t mind if you disagree; I’m happy to accept comments on the opposite side, just don’t put hate on my comment board.
And I need a host! Freewebs is waaaay to slow, and I’d like a quicker server. Please help!

Hey Deena, try Kya at Bubble hosting for a host. I hear she is good. I don’t like being hosted by anyone though so I bought my own. :]
Freewebs does suck.
I think a personal website is basically to express yourself, but people get hit counters on their sites so they get an idea of how many people visit their site. Especially the sites that offer graphics and stuff. They need to know if they are really getting used or not.
I don’t personally have a hit counter, cause I am not really bothered about that aspect of a site personally. Neither am I bothered about comments. They are amazing when people leave comments but I don’t rule my whole site by people’s decision on commenting or not.
When people beg for comments it’s kinda disgusting. It’s desperate. It’s like a form of online popularity.
I learnt html from W3schools. It took me about a weekend of constant attention to get my head around it. So try on there.

I opened it again on the 26th I think. So just a couple of days ago. And thanks for what you said about the blends!

I agree with you about the hits thing.. Personal blogging isn’t all about getting visitors and becoming popular! I mean, sure, you want people to read and like your blogs, and share their opinions, but you should just care about expressing yourself and not about becoming popular

You should try out Freewebs/Webs with the HTML editor first. I don’t know if my tutorials help (LOL) but I always tell people to look at premades and templates to help them understand things a bit first. It’s how I started out - looking at premade layouts and stuff. http://w3schools.com is a great place to start for some basic HTML too.
Hits aren’t everything seriously. It bloody pisses me off when people go on about hits and visitors - it’s better if you have a few returning visitors that comment you regularly and such.

Haha. You’re very nice. I think sometimes you can be a bit too nice to some people when you ought to be a bit more angry - know what I mean? XD
I think I am hard to make friends with, but I love to talk, yet I can be a big ass bitch when I want to. *nods*

Yeah hits have never been a concern to me, as long as I make some good friends and enjoy my site I’m all good.
